The Town of Acton Economic Development Committee (EDC) has the goal to support and grow existing businesses and promote development and renewal of commercial properties in Acton.
The committee met on October 13th to review its membership rules and brainstorm its goals for 2024. Its charge is for seven full and 4 associate members. Fran Arsenault serves as the Select Board liaison for the committee. Economic Development Director Julie Pierce provides staff support. Catherine Usoff is the chair of the committee. Mike Carpenter has joined the committee as representative for local business owners. The members discussed the possibility of filling associate memberships with members of the Finance Committee and Planning Board, and chamber representatives. Ms. Arsenault said the EDC’s desire to include members from other board fits with the Select Board’s recent conversation about increasing cross-communication among town boards and committees.
